Description

The zinc deposits are bright over a wide current density range, and can be easily chromated or passivated.

 

The information in this data sheet is based on laboratory as well as practical experience. Figures quoted for operating limits and replenishment quantities are for guidance. Actual values necessary will depend on the components being plated (material and geometry), their application and plating plant conditions.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION AND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

Tanks:

Rubber lined steel, PP or GFK with polypropylene liner.

Local Exhaust Ventilation:

Required

Part/electrolyte agitation:

Required.

Electrolyte agitation: 1 - 2 turnovers per hour Part agitation: 2 - 4 m/min

Barrel Rotation:

3 - 6 rpm

Filtration:

Required, with approximately 2 bath turnovers per hour. Precoat-type filter: polypropylene with alkali-resistant filter aid. Filter media containing cellulose must not be used.

Anodes:

Nickel coated steel plates

Heating/Cooling:

Steel pipes (water-heated), cooling plates or heat exchanger.

Zinc dissolving tank:

Carbonate freezing unit:
